The apartment was newly renovated and was very impressive. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of room. The hotel had easy access to Taksim square and Galata Tower. And the hotel manager was most friendly and welcoming. She rang before we arrived to know what time we were arriving to ensure she could meet us, she gave us some good tips for sights to see and good restaurants and was always smiling.

The hotel was a little noisy. It seemed like the walls/roof were thin and we could hear other guests, and also noise from the street. Although it was more than bearable as the bed was so comfortable, it was easy to get back to sleep. The only other negative was that the bathroom was quite small, but was fine.

The small hotel is located in a silent side road close to a big strip mall which is easy to hoof it. An amzing view just from room 5 (sea view). Big and well furnished room. Very nice and clean accomodation. We definitely recommend this hotel. We liked to stay there!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, location is central but also very quietly. The apartment we had was very comfortable and beautiful, with useful kitchen and a small balcony. If you would like to join a great view you should choose the apartment on the top in contrast. From the apartment it is 4 min to Galata-Tower and 4 min to Istiklal Caddesi, shops for daily needs are close-by as well. We would definitely recommend this to others.

Brand new small hotel in a great location! Our stay was perfect! The room was very comfortable and modern. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and nicely served. The hotel is ideally located and is in walking distance to numerous interesting spots in downtown. Everything you need is across from the hotel: many shops, restaurants… We loved this hotel and definitely we would recommend it.

The apartment at the top of this renovated old Galata building has the most spectacular view! It is charming, well appointed and clean as a whistle. We watched the harbour traffic coming from the sea into the Bosphorous and up the Golden Horn - transporters, ferries, cruisers and barges. In the background we could see 3 of the big tourist attractions/historic sites - Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The apartment is spacious, tastefully furnished and the service is excellent. The local area is full of small and charming shops, bars and restaurants among the winding streets. To get around, we bought the "Akbil" electronic access pass and found that it was easy, cheap and convenient to use the tramways, funicular and ferries. You can get them at most newspaper stands. What a place! The service for the apartment was excellent and our host went to the trouble to post back to us in Australia a jacket we left behind. No charge for that! We loved every minute and hope to stay again.

Charming apartment, recently stylishly refurbished, in located in an excellent part of the old town. The rooms were spotless and beds very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - we arrived late at nearly midnight and they were very welcoming - even the shop around the corner was open for our immediate needs! There are a couple of excellent places for breakfast down the road and it's a 5 minute walk to the tram stop for trams to (the more touristy) Sultanahmet. Made our first visit to Istanbul a perfect experience!

A place that lives up to its photographs, and then some. 'Sea view' is a bit of an understatement for a stunning panorama of Istanbul. The wireless was excellent, everything in the room worked, tranquil location close to the heart of everything. The staff were extremely helpful and the level of service is well above what you would generally expect of an apartment hotel - Zeynep was friendly, welcoming and efficient. The only thing that went wrong was a power cut to the whole suburb, and they made sure they were there to let us in and advise when the power would be back on. Pretty much faultless.

Charming little hotel with very personalised service. Loved the location. The little touches went a long way. We were made to feel at home by the hotel manager Zeynep and felt like we were the only guests there although they were fully booked.

The large trash containers next to the hotel.

We stayed for 6 nights with two young children in this stylish, comfortable, small apartment hotel. Overall the apartment and location is great and lived up to the reviews posted by previous guests. The location has a residential feel to it and you get to see and experience locals going about doing their business (more downhill from the apartment, rather than towards Galata Tower). At the same time it is close (within walking distance) to the main tourists sites. There are plenty of grocery stores, cafes, and boutique shops very close to the hotel. The manager Zeynep is extremely helpful and is always available.

Although it was not a problem for us, (and definitely worth comprising because of the other advantages), this hotel is on top of a very steep street. Pushing a lightweight Maclaren stroller uphill was an effort. Anyone with a heavy pram or when the weather is wet will struggle. Having said that, a lot of Istanbul on foot requires going up or down steep streets and Istanbul on the whole isn’t that pedestrian friendly. The only other negative was that the apartment we had, had a very small bathroom and the kitchenette space was very limited making food preparation inconvenient. Zaynep offers to arrange a taxi and driver to pick you up from the airport which we accepted. Please be aware you will pay quite a premium for this convenience.

I had a fantastic stay with my girlfriend! The experienced staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The location of the hotel was very convenient for all the main sights of Istanbul. A great day and great experience!

Very stylishly made apartments. Had all basic amenities we needed to spend a week. The room was serviced every day very efficiently. There are 2 grocery stores right next door which you can buy basic groceries from. The manager Zeynep is extremely helpful and seems to be around always. She helped us settle in, with tours, getting cabs, orientation of the place etc. Location is 5 min walk from Istiklal street which gives you access to good food and shopping. Also 5 min to Galata tower.

If you travel with young kids who need to be pushed on buggies - be warned that to get to Istiklal street you need to climb a small but steep hill. In our we had a double pram and pushing it up was an effort.

We really liked the location and the price. We were outside of the downtown hotels and in a neighborhood that gave us a true visit with the Turkish people. The hotel staff was more than acomidating and lovely people.

Everything with Serdar-I Ekrem was fine. However, we found that few Turks speak English.
